Hotel management
offers a variety of careers. One can opt for front office management which is
generally known as reception services, or food beverage management also known as
F&B, or take up kitchen services that is one can aspire to become a chef who

Craftsmanship Course
in Food & Beverage Service (six months)/Food Production (18
months)
Eligibility is S.S.C or equivalent with
English as one of the subjects.
Age: 22 years for General category &
25 years for SC/ST category. Admission is done by the Institute itself as per
the norms of the Council, based on the qualifying marks and interview marks.
Notification for the course is published in May/June in
local newspapers.
Food Production
Subjects for Food
Production taught are -Cookery; Larder; Bakery & Patisserie; Costing;
Hygiene; Equipment Maintenance. Training for 20 weeks in star hotels. Subjects
for Food & Beverage Service taught are -Food Service; Beverage Service;
Pantry Operation. Industrial training for 1month in star hotels.
Three-year B.Sc.
Programme in Hospitality & Hotel Administration
Eligibility is 10+2 or equivalent.
Candidates appearing in qualifying examination at the time of entrance are also
eligible to apply provisionally. The candidates selected provisionally will not
be allowed to join/continue in case they fail in 10+2 examination.
Age limit: 22 years for General category & 25 years
for SC/ST category. Selection is through a common examination conducted by The
National Council, followed by centralized counseling for allotment of Institute.
Admission notification is issued during February/March in Employment
News & other major newspapers.

Accounting; Communication; Hotel Maintenance; Nutrition; Food Science;

During the second year students get an industrial
training for of 20 weeks in star hotels.

Culinary Academy of India,
Hyderabad, offers Bachelor of Catering Technology and Culinary Arts This course
offers intensive and complete training in classic techniques of professional
cooking, ands on instruction of basic cooking, baking and presentation skills
and the required theoretical knowledge. The course structure is divided into one
year and four Semesters.
The academy is affiliated to the Osmania
University & approved by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher
Education.
Course fee is around Rs 40,000. Students will have to incurr
