One of the best law schools in Eastern India is NEF Law College, which was established in 2006. This unique "Centre of Law Education" was established in accordance with other well-known National and International Law Colleges. The College offers Three Year LLB and Masters of Law (LLM) programs under Guwahati University in addition to Five Year Integrated Courses in three streams: BA LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), and B Com LLB (Hons).
The College has the approval of the Bar Council of India (BCI), New Delhi, and is permanently affiliated with Guwahati University. The Government of Assam's Department of Higher Education and the University Grants Commission (UGC) both recognize the college. According to the NCMEI Act,2004, Section 2(g), the College is a minority institution.
