National Eligibility Test (NET) a joint UGC test will be conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research to determine the eligibility of Indian Nationals for the award of Junior Research Fellowships and for the appointment of lecturers in certain subject areas that fall under the faculty of science. The honor of Junior Fellowship to the successful and eligible candidates depends on the factors like their finding admission/placement in a university/national laboratory/ institution of higher learning and researches whichever is applicable.

The age limit for JRF is a minimum of 19 years and a maximum of 28 years and for the Lecturer test it is a minimum of 19 years and there is no max limit
