CTET - Central Teacher Eligibility Test
Recruiting more number of teachers is a must for the proper and correct implementation of the Right of Children for Free and Compulsary Education (RTE) Act 2009 and hence the enormous task of recruiting teachers has started. The main point to be considered in this big work is the quality and it should not be diluted at any cost. Taking all these points into consideration, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has been conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) every year.
This TET exam helps in selecting the candidates having the minimum essential ability and aptitude to meet the challenges of teaching and also national level standards to the quality of recruitment. This Eligibility Test will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi. The CTET May 2012 exam is conducted only for the candidates belonging to the UTs of Daman & Diu and Dadar & Nagar Haveli. Important Dates for CTET 2013:
Online Submission of application through CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in or www.ctet.nic.in : 01.08.2012 to 31.08.2012
Last date for Receipt of Confirmation Page with Demand Draft in CBSE office : October 7th 2012
Admit cards are issued from : November 1st 2012
Date of CTET exam : November 18th 2012
Examination Results are declared on : December 27th 2012
Eligibility Criteria for CTET 2013:
Candidates meeting the below mentioned criteria are eligible for CTET 2013
Candidates passing the senior secondary or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks and even the candidates passed or appearing for the final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary education are eligible.
A minimum of 50% marks in the Senior Secondary or its equivalent and candidates passed or appearing in the final year of 4 year Bachelor Elementary Education (B.EL.ED).
Candidates having secured a minimum of 50% marks in the Senior Secondary and candidates passed or appearing in the final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
CTET Syllabus:
The CTET exam is of multiple choice questions and consists of 2 papers. Paper I for classes from I to V and Paper II for classes from VI-VIII. The CTET 2012 Syllabus of each paper is as follows.
The subjects covered in the Paper I are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Environmental Studies.
The subjects in the Paper II are Child Development & Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics and Science for respective teachers and Social science for Social studies or Social science teacher.
