NEET Exemption : Centre yet to take nod from Supreme Court

Though the Centre has exempted AP from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for two years, it will take a few weeks to give written orders to this effect. The Union health ministry has to inform the SC about the relaxation given to AP and seek its approval for the same, as it was on the SC orders the Centre announced Neet implementation.Higher education department officials say it will take another two or three weeks before all the procedures are completed. As of now, the Chief Minister's Office has only received a communication from the Union health minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, regarding the exemption. An AP team will visit New Delhi this week to submit documents in support of the exemption plea and to explain that 100 per cent medical seats in AP have to be filled by only local students.
