It is learnt that the coveted IITs, for which a nationwide competitive examinations are held, may also be brought in under the ambit of the new test.
To hold such an exam, HRD ministry has asked the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for suitable norms. The proposal is in line with government policy and in order to enable the holding of such a test, suitable regulations will be integrated to the test.
The single entrance test for engineering is to maintain high standards and to lessen burden on the students ensuring not too many test must be taken. The sources said that test brings a greater transparency and HRD ministry is ready to take any constructive suggestions from states and Deemed Universities to ensure the test success.
The single entrance test will be conducted multiple times every year and the test will be designed in such a way that it will overcome the linguistic diversity in our county.
