TCS launches ‘Campus Commune Portal'

Posted On: 10-2-2012
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) formally launched its ‘Campus Commune Portal' at Gayatri Vidya Parishad College of Engineering here on Thursday.

Objective

Speaking on the occasion TCS human resources manager Naveen Setty said the main objective of the portal was to engage the academic community and provide campus students with an online platform to build networks with their peers, share experiences, resolve their queries, interact with industry experts and learn together as a community. Ultimately it is aimed at providing students a head start for a smooth landing into the corporate world of the Tatas. The TCS has been recruiting a big number of students from various streams of B.Tech, M.Tech and MCA every year from GVP College of Engineering. To bridge the gap between the industry and academia, the portal was launched, he said.TCS business consultant K. Venkat elaborated on the main features of the portal including just ask, which is the social question and answer activity centre through which users can post questions, answer posted questions, and also comment and vote on answers. TCS Spectrum is the media activity centre that showcases the latest events and happenings at TCS. Users can rate and comment on the postings, participate in debates and voice their opinion through polls.

The auditorium was packed with students who evinced keen interest in the portal. Later, they logged on the site and registered themselves with the campus commune.

The portal will provide students an online platform to build networks with their peers
