Our college,proud institution established in 1970 in the city of Mysuru, is one among the hundreds of fluttering and shining flags of the chariot of Saraswathi. The College has excellent infrastructure facility with well equipped, spacious and well lit classrooms, multimedia facilities and well stacked library.It has been given permanent Affiliation by the University of Mysore in the year 1995-96 and recognised by U.G.C under Section 12B and 2(f). It has been imparting need-based education in the field of Commerce, Humanities and Science.

The Jagadguru Sri Shivarathreeswara Mahavidyapeetha (JSS MVP) sponsored and nurtured by the 23rd pontiff of Jagadguru Dr. Sri Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji, Sri Veera Simahasana Math, Suttur, has been dedicating itself to the creation of a better future ever since it was formally established in 1954.

The JSS Mahavidyapeetha is a socio-cultural institution that has pioneered the concept of education as a tool for social change. While the focus has been on providing opportunities for formal education, there is strong parallel thrust on values, ethics and the meeting of societal obligations. This is an institution that adopts a multi-pronged approach to ensure a better quality of life. Through its over 300 institutions it not only provides learning to about 40,000 Students but touches the lives of millions more through a cascading effect.

A child can begin its education in the Kindergarten and proceed to earn a degree as well a dictate in several branches of learning. Simultaneously the Mahavidyapeetha has not neglected to strengthen the roots of our ancient knowledge, wisdom and culture and their application in the day to day life. Sanskrit pathashalas, Yoga Kendras, Spiritual Retreats, Gurukulas, Art and Cultural forums, are doing this work. Today the JSS Mahavidyapeetha has its branches in Tamilnadu, Uttarpradesh and also in far off Dubai, Mauritius and the United States of America. This great institution has gained national and international recognition under the able guidance and blessings of the present pontiff Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji.
