About B.K. College For Women:
The College is named after Venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry of happy memory, the first native Bishop of Changanacherry and the founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The founding of Bishop Kurialacherry College in 1965 by the S.A.B.S. Congregation was inspired by the vision of our Heavenly Patron, Venerable Mar Thomas Kurialacherry who had foreseen the vital importance of the enlightenment and empowerment of women. It was his vision that by educating women we can create better homes, society and nation.“When we educate a woman we are educating a generation” were the prophetic words of our Heavenly Patron.
Our College is situated in Amalagiri which is 10 kms away from Kottayam, about half a kilometer north of Caritas Medical College Road, on the Medical College Mahatma Gandhi University road and about 1 km west of M.C. Road. The foundation stone of the college was laid down by His Grace Most Rev.
