Balluram Godara Govt. Girls College, Sri Ganganagar, a pioneer college for women education in the north of Rajasthan is one of the oldest government colleges for women in Rajasthan. Sri Ganganagar is the northernmost city of the state which lies close to the state border of Punjab and Rajasthan and the international border of India and Pakistan.Situated in the heart of the city Sri Ganganagar which is known as ‘Food Basket of Rajasthan’, the college strives to enlighten and encourage the girls from semi-urban and rural vicinities of the district to enable them to hone their creative potential to assume positive and fulfilling roles in nation-building Established in 1958 by the Government of Rajasthan, the college is named after Choudhary BalluramGodara, a distinguished philanthropist of the district committed for the cause of women empowerment through education. In his fond memory, his family magnanimously donated for the construction of the building of this college.Presently affiliated to Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Bikaner, the college started its journey with inter-classes in 1958 as an affiliated college of University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. In 1987, the university affiliation of the college was shifted to M.D.S. University, Ajmer. In 2003, the college got affiliated to Bikaner University, Bikaner which is presently known as Maharaja Ganga Singh University.
