Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC), located in Ludhiana, Punjab, is one of the oldest and most prestigious engineering institutions in Northern India. Established in 1956, the college was founded under the auspices of the Nankana Sahib Education Trust (NSET) to promote technical education and uplift the rural population of India. The college is named after Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the first Sikh Guru, and aims to embody his principles of service and education.

Initially GNDEC affiliated with Panjab University, the college transitioned to become part of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (PTU) after its establishment in 1997. In 2012, GNDEC was conferred Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission (UGC), allowing it greater flexibility in academic programs and administration. The college has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In recent rankings, GNDEC was placed at 45^th  among private engineering colleges by India Today in 2024. The Times of India ranked GNDEC at 117^th  among engineering colleges in India for 2023.
