As a Christian minority institution, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology has been certified by ISO 9001:2015, recognized by the AICTE, and is affiliated with Anna University in Chennai. In 2011, its esteemed Chairman, the late Col. Dr. Jeppiaar, founded it. Jeppiaar Institute of Technology is an entity of Jeppiaar Remibai Educational Trust. First, in India, Jeppiaar Institute of Technology is the first to open a laboratory utilizing "Innovative Cloud Computing Technology." 

There are currently five popular professional undergraduate engineering programs offered by the college: B.Tech Information Technology, B.E. Mechanical Engineering, B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering, B.E. Computer Science and Engineering, and one Post Graduate program in Business Administration.
