Formerly known as Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Central Sanskrit University, was first founded in October 1970, in New Delhi as an independent organization dedicated to the propagation and advancement of Sanskrit throughout the nation. The Indian government has provided all of the funding for it.
Numerous Undergraduate and Post Graduate Sanskrit programs are available at Central Sanskrit University (CSU). Merit-based admission to UG and PG programs is determined by the results of entrance exams, such as the CUET UG and CUET PG, respectively.
It has been the major organization for the growth, propagation, and promotion of Sanskrit and assists the Ministry of Human Resource growth in planning and carrying out various programs and projects for the advancement of Sanskrit education. It has been operating as the primary coordinating body for the efficient execution of the several suggestions put forth by the First Sanskrit Commission, which was established in 1956 by the Indian government's Department of Education to preserve, advance, and expand Sanskrit.
