The Central Agricultural University (CAU), situated in Iroisemba near Imphal, Manipur, was founded on January 26, 1993, by the Central Agricultural University Act, 1992, under the Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE).
The University offers 9 Undergraduate, 45 Masters and 25 Ph. D. Degree Programmes in diverse subjects/disciplines of Agriculture & Allied Sciences through its 13 constituent colleges located in seven states of the NE Region of India. University Grants Commission (UGC), Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), and Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) have all recognized CAU.
