Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a renowned institution established by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, is known for its diverse academic offerings and its commitment to providing quality education. It was established as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College in 1875. After the Aligarh Muslim University Act was passed in 1921, Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College changed its name to Aligarh Muslim University. Its three off-campus locations are in Kishanganj Center (Bihar), AMU Murshidabad Center (West Bengal), and AMU Malappuram Campus (Kerala).
Aligarh Muslim University is organized into about 12 faculties that offer courses in a variety of technical and vocational topics as well as interdisciplinary subjects. The university offers about 300 degrees. It established two new MBA and Integrated Law study centers in West Bengal and Kerala in 2011. There are about 28,000 students enrolled at the university, and there are about 1,500 academic members. The majority of its international students are from Africa, West Asia, and Southeast Asia, however students are drawn from all states in India as well as several other nations. Entrance is the basis for admission to the university.
