Sri Sankarananda Giri Swamy Degree College (SSGS) was established in 1984 at Koya Nagar, Guntakal, under the patronage of Sri Sankarananda Giri Swamy Educational Society. The institution was initially started as a junior college in 1982, later upgraded to a degree college to cater to the growing higher education needs of rural and semi-urban students.
