Dr.K.S. Sanjivi, a doctor & social worker was the driving force behind the establishment of the VHS- M.A. Chidambaram College of Nursing, envisioned as a center for nurturing skilled nursing professionals. His commitment to healthcare was evident through the non-profit healthcare organization Voluntary Health Services, he developed in 1961. Following that, under the aegis of the M.A. Chidambaram (MAC) Educational Foundation, he established the nursing college in 1991 to serve as a key talent incubator for the hospital.
