Shri Santhigiri Siddha Medical College (SSMC), established in 2002 by the Santhigiri Ashram in Pothencode, Thiruvananthapuram, is the first Siddha Medical College in Kerala and the only one in India where English is the medium of instruction. Affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine, it offers a 5.5-year Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS) course. The institution aims to train physicians in the holistic Siddha system, offering practical training at its 150-bed attached hospital.The college's mission is to train physicians who embody the principles of the "Nava Arogya Dharma Siddhantham" (New Doctrine of Healthcare).Students receive a comprehensive understanding of the Siddha system, combining fundamental knowledge with extensive practical training. ]With English as the teaching medium, SSMC attracts students from various foreign countries, providing them with exposure to the global medical community.
