The NMAT by GMAC rather than NMAT are presently the entrance test for admission to NMIMS and other B-schools related to NMAT by GMAC (The Graduate Management Admission Council) is a worldwide non-benefit association included driving graduate business colleges around the globe. GMAC is the proprietor and director of the GMAT and NMAT exams. NMAT by GMAC is a national-level MBA placement test for admission to prestigious administration universities, for example, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Alliance University, SRM University, BML Munjal University, VIT University, ICFAI Business School (IBS) and Ansal University. NMAT in its new shape is directed as an online exam in 75 days testing window. The exam is a PC based target sort numerous decision test.

Plough up 2014 NMIMS Mumbai directed NMAT exam for admission to its leader MBA/PGDM programs. In March 2015, Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the proprietor of GMAT exam gained NMAT 2017 exam and changed the name of NMAT to NMAT by GMAC. From that point forward NMAT which used to be the entrance test just for admission to leader MBA program at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS).

NMAT UG 2018 Application Form

NMAT application form was available online from 4th July 2017. To fill the application form candidates had to first register for the exam. Post that candidates had to enter their personal and academic details as well as work experience, programme, upload photograph and preference of school. After submitting details candidates have to pay the examination fee online. Application fee was Rs 1800 for five programmes or schools. However those applying for more than five programmes or schools had to pay an additional amount of Rs 200.

After successful registration candidates received an email with their unique NMAT by GMAC registration number. Candidates were allowed to edit certain details like preference of school and contact details. NMAT application form can be filled in three steps.

Steps to apply for NMAT

Step 1: Registration by submitting first, last name, country, mobile number, email id and choose a password.

Step 2: Filling the application form by personal, contact details, work experience, programmes, schools and upload photograph. Post that accept the terms and conditions and submit the application form.

Step 3: In the next step candidates have to pay their examination fees

Step 4: After successful registration, candidates can schedule their exam and download admit card.

NMAT 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of Institutes accepting the NMAT scores have remained the same for several years. However, before applying for NMAT 2018 and the various Institutes, candidates are advised to go through their official brochure. Some of the common NMAT by GMAC eligibility criteria are -

  • The applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree (10 + 2 + 3) from a recognized University.
  • The minimum marks required in the qualifying exam is 50 percent.
  • Candidates who will be appearing the final year of their qualifying marks can also apply.
  • There is no age limit.

NMAT 2018 Exam Pattern

NMAT will be conducted in computer-based mode. According to NMAT exam pattern, the exam will be held for 120 minutes duration and each section have separate timings. The exam comprises three sections - Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. The question paper will carry 120 questions. NMAT exam pattern 2018 is given below.

NMAT 2018 Syllabus           

NMAT syllabus contains topics from Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning. The language skill section of NMAT comprises questions assess a candidates verbal ability, language structure skills and reading comprehension. While the quantitative skill section evaluates a candidates calculative ability. Questions in logical reasoning section are designed to tests a candidates analytical skills. NMAT Admit Card 2018

NMAT admit card of NMAT is available online. Candidates can download their admit card after successful registration and payment. To download NMAT admit card candidates have to login in their NMAT by GMAC account and enter user id and password generated after registration. NMAT admit card contains the registration details and photograph. Candidates should carry the admit card along with print out of confirmation email and two identity proofs. NMAT 2018 admit card is an important and without the same candidates will not be allowed to appear in the exam

NMAT Result 2018

NMAT 2018 result will be declared in the third week of January. The scores of candidates are made available within four weeks from the date of exam. The result will be announced online and no hard copy of the same will be sent to candidates by post. To check NMAT result candidates have to enter their user id and password. NMAT scorecard will have total score, sectional score and percentile ranking of the candidate. On the basis of NMAT scores candidates will be shortlisted for further rounds conducted by the participating institutes. The scaled scores are calculated after normalising the marks of candidates to adjust the difficulty level while the percentile scores are calculated at the end after all the candidates have appeared in the exam. After declaration of NMAT result 2018 the scores of candidates will be sent to the business schools that they have applied.

NMAT 2018 Counselling Process

The selection procedure of NMAT 2018 would depend on the business school the student has applied. Based on NMAT scores the participating institutes will prepare merit list to select candidates for the next round of selection process. Candidates will be called for Group Discussion (GD), Writing Ability Test (WAT), Case Discussion (CD) and Personal Interview depending on the institutes selection procedure. Further, they will be offered final admission based on their NMAT scores, performance in GD/WAT/CD/PI, past academic records and work experience. The admission criteria vary as per the participating institutes.
