Institute of Technology, Nirma University, Ahmedabad – Scholarships

The Institute of Technology at Nirma University offers various scholarships and financial assistance to its students. Following is a list of some of the scholarships that are offered to the students.

• Nirma Merit Scholarship: This scholarship is awarded to students based on merit. The top 5 students receive INR 1 lakh per annum, the next 20 students receive INR 90,000 per annum, and the next 25 students receive INR 50,000 per annum.
• Nirma Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: This scholarship considers the family income of the students in addition to their merit records. The top 25 students receive INR 90,000 whose annual family income is less than INR 2.5 lakhs, INR 50,000 to the next 25 students in the income group not exceeding INR 4 lakhs, and INR 25,000 to another 25 students with a family income not exceeding INR 6 lakhs.
• Nirma University Interest-free Loan Scholarship: This scholarship is available to 5% of the students who have secured at least 70% marks in the Higher Secondary Examination. Under this scheme, the interest charges on a student loan borrowed for tuition fees are compensated by the university.
• Nirma University Alumni Funded Scholarship: This scholarship is funded by the Nirma Institute of Technology Alumni Association (NITAA) and provides financial assistance to meritorious students in need.
• Nirma University Earn While You Learn Scholarship: This scholarship is available to students whose annual family income is not more than INR 10 lakhs. Students can earn some monthly sustenance money by working a maximum of 10 hours per week in an assigned section of the university.
• Financial Assistance to Postgraduate Students: Financial assistance is provided to MBA students in terms of Merit/Merit-cum-Means Scholarship. The meritorious students are eligible for a 100% waiver of tuition fees, and they are given Merit-cum-means scholarships based on their family income. The students of MTech and MPharm are also eligible for the scholarship, and the qualifiers of GATE/GPAT are offered higher scholarships.
