About Indian Institute of Science (IISc):

Indian Institute of Science is located in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is also locally known as the "Tata Institute”. The IISc campus is located in the north of Bengaluru, about 4 kilometers from Bangalore City Railway Station and Kempegowda Bus Station, on the way to Yeshwantpur. The Institute is about 35 kilometers from Kempegowda International Airport. The educational university was established in the year 1909. It acquired the status of a Deemed University in 1958. It is recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC). Indian Institute of Science offers courses B.Tech, M.Tech in Engineering, M.Des in Design, and B.Sc in Science.

A. Duration of B.Sc (Research) is 4 years. Subjects that are included in the Programme are Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Earth and Environmental science, and materials. In the 4th year, the student is required to take up the specialized subject based on his/her interest and performance of the students in that subject.
