Indian Institute of Science  Info

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), situated in Bengaluru, Karnataka, is India's premier public university for advanced scientific research and higher technological education. Conceived in the late 19th century through a visionary partnership between pioneering industrialist Jamsetji Tata, the Maharaja of Mysore Krishnaraja Wadiyar IV, and the Government of India, the institute was officially established on May 27, 1909. Spanning over 400 acres of lush, green urban campus in North Bengaluru, IISc was granted deemed university status in 1958 and designated as an "Institute of Eminence" by the Government of India in 2018.

Across its history, the institute has been guided by distinguished leaders, beginning with English chemist Morris Travers as its inaugural director and Nobel Laureate Sir C.V. Raman as its first Indian director in 1933. IISc plays a pivotal role in national institution-building; legendary figures associated with the institute—such as Homi J. Bhabha, Vikram Sarabhai, and Satish Dhawan—went on to pioneer India's atomic energy and space programs, giving birth to institutions like ISRO and TIFR.

Today, IISc comprises six major academic divisions spanning Biological Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Electrical Sciences, Interdisciplinary Research, Mechanical Sciences, and Physical and Mathematical Sciences. It offers highly competitive programs including its specialized Bachelor of Science (BS-Research) degree, Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Design (M.Des), and extensive doctoral (Ph.D.) research tracks. Consistently ranked as the top university and research institution in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) and maintaining a leading presence among global engineering universities, IISc continues to drive groundbreaking discoveries, technological innovations, and scientific excellence.

I choosed a ME course from this college because it is a very high demanding course in today's era of corporate sectors the teachers teaching in this college are well qualified PhD holders and their teaching methods are straight to the point they all are the former workers in the corporate sectors in any company with a work experience. The college follows the same rule as the other college do for a examination is a semester wise rule in which you have to give a semester exam of each subject in every 6 months and after passing that exam you will be promoted to the next semester for more higher studies of other subjects
