Government Medical College

Established in 1964, Government Medical College, Surat, aims to provide medical education and extend tertiary care to patients from South Gujarat and nearby areas. Affiliated with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, the college's campus spans 130 acres and includes the main Medical College buildings, New Civil Hospital, a student hostel, and staff residential quarters. The college currently enrolls 250 students annually for the M.B.B.S. degree course and offers 177 seats for postgraduate degree and diploma courses across various subjects.

The institute boasts over 250 faculty members and 23 departments, all of which provide postgraduate courses. Its Medical Education Unit and Institutional Review Board, along with the Scientific Review Committee and Ethics Committee, are dedicated to producing high-quality medical research.
