The National Board of Examinations – NBE has released the notification for NEET PG 2025. NEET PG is the only official entrance exam in India for admission into Medical PG courses like MD/MS/PG diploma courses. 50% of Medical PG seats of Medical Educational Institutions of Central Govt., Universities established by an Act of Parliament, Armed Forces Medical Services Institutions, Deemed Universities, Medical Institutions and universities established under the act of state governments, and Private Medical Colleges are reserved for recruitment under NEET PG. 

  • NEET PG Exam is mandatory even for foreign nationals seeking admission in medical courses in India
  • Seats of Medical institutions under the central government are filled by the Directorate of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Govt of India.
  • Seats of Medical institutions under state governments are to be filled by respective state governments' designated authority.
  • However, the following Medical colleges are exempted from NEET PG. They conduct their own entrance exam for Medical PG courses in their respective colleges.

NEET PG 2025 Eligibility

  • The candidate should be completed an MBBS degree.
  • The candidate should possess a provisional MBBS certificate or MBBS Degree
  • The candidate should have completed one year of internship or should be completed by 31st March 2025.
  • Candidates should ensure before applying for the registration that their MBBS degree is recognized as per provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act. If it is found at any time that an MBBS degree is not recognized, the candidature/result of the candidate shall be cancelled/ deemed to be cancelled.
  • Registration with M.C.I. / State Medical Council is necessary and its documentary proof should be furnished by the candidates on the day of examination and at the time of counselling/admission.

Eligibility Criteria for Foreign Medical Graduates

  • Indian citizens or overseas citizens of India who have obtained their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical Colleges outside India should have qualified for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (Screening Test) which is conducted by the National Board of Examinations. Further, they should have been registered with MCI/SMC and should have completed their internship or are likely to complete their internship on or before 31st March 2025.
  • Foreign Medical Graduates are required to bring their FMGE Pass certificate issued by NBE on their testing day.

NEET PG 2025 Examination Fee

  • Application forms should be submitted only online mode, offline/printed copies by post are not allowed.
  • NEET-PG 2025 Exam fee Rs. 3250/- (For SC/ST/PWD (PH) candidates) Rs. 4250/- (For General/OBC candidates)
  • The prescribed exam fee should be remitted through a payment gateway provided using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or through Internet Banking.
  • Fees shall neither be refunded nor carried forward if the application for NEET PG 2025 is rejected or Candidates remain absent from the examination or are declared ineligible.

NEET Exam syllabus for PG entrance

The syllabus for NEET-PG shall comprise subjects/knowledge areas as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by the Medical Council of India with prior approval of the Government of India. NEET PG 2025 Syllabus consists of three sections – 

  • Pre-clinical,
  • Para-clinical and
  • Clinical.

NEET PG 2025 Exam Pattern

  • NEET-PG shall be a multiple choice questions exam delivered on a computer-based platform (CBT).
  • The time allotted is 3hr 30 min.
  • The question paper shall be divided into 3 parts (Part A, B, and C) each containing 50, 100, and 150 MCQs respectively.
  • The examination comprises 300 Multiple Choices, single-correct response questions in English language only.
  • Negative marking: There shall be a 25% negative marking for incorrect answers No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.

NEET PG 2025  Admit Cards

  • NEET PG 2025 Admit cards are available for March 2025. 
  • Candidates are required to download their admit card from the website and affix their latest passport-size photograph in the space provided on the admit card.
    Admit cards will not be sent to the candidates by Post.
  • The photograph should have the following specifications:

minimum 35x45 mm with at least 75% coverage of the face & head of the candidate.

A caption indicating the name of the candidate and the date of capturing the photograph should be there at the bottom of the photograph.

Documents to be produced at NEET 2025 Exam Centre

  • A printed copy of the admit Card with a Photo of the candidate pasted on it
  • Photocopy of Permanent / Provisional SMC/MCI registration,* to be retained by the test center
  • Anyone of the authorized photo IDs** (must be original, valid, and non-expired)
  • Indian/OCI citizen who has obtained their Primary Medical Qualification outside India and does not have SMC/MCI registration should bring their original screening test pass certificate issued on NBE letterhead.
  • Foreign Nationals who are desirous to appear in NEET-PG are required to bring their passport (original & valid) to the test center along with any other documents as proof of their being a medical practitioner in their country.
