Walchand Institute of Technology (WIT), established in 1983, is the oldest engineering college in Solapur, Maharashtra, and is recognized as the first autonomous engineering institute in the region. Managed by the Shri Aillak Pannalal Digambar Jain Pathashala Trust, WIT is named after Seth Walchand Hirachand, a notable figure in India's industrial development.
