GATE 2019 - Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is National level entrance examination, a popular test in India which is conducted for the Engineering Graduates who wishes to get admission into Master’s Degree Course offered by the reputed universities and colleges in India.

GATE 2019 is popular entrance test which is for the students who are in their final semester of engineering under graduate course or students who have passed the under graduate course in engineering field. The entrance test is a pathway for the students to get admissions in reputed colleges and universities to pursue their Master’s Degree.

GATE 2019: New Changes Introduced this Year:

  • Some major changes are done for the GATE 2019 examination, They are:
  • The GATE 2019 examination will be conducted for total 24 papers. A new paper Statistics (Code – ST) has been added.
  • Students will also get an opportunity to submit the application form after the due date.

  • The Submission of Online Applications for GATE 2019 will begin from 1st September 2018.
  • The Last date for Application Form Online Submission is 1st October 2018

GATE 2019 Registration Procedure

1) To register for GATE 2019 entrance examination, candidates need the following

  • Valid e-mail address
  • Mobile Number

2) Students should note that only one person can register with one e-mail address.

3) Once registered, candidate receives a GOAPS Enrolment ID.

Fill the GATE 2019 Application Form

1) Login using the GOAPS enrolment id and password

2) Fill the Application form with required information and choose a city for exam centre.

3) Choose the paper which the candidate intends to give the exam.

 4) Upload the necessary documents along with photograph and signature/thumb impression.

5) Pay the application fees as mentioned below by Debit Card/Net Banking/e-challan.

6) Fill the Application form with required information and choose a city for exam centre from GATE 2019 Exam Cities List.

GATE 2019 Application Form Corrections

Candidates must fill application carefully, the correction will not be allowed in any fields except exam city center. Other details about GATE Application correction are given below:

  • Candidates can make the correction in the exam city from 3rd week of November 2018 with correction fee of Rs. 400.
  • Last year, the correction was done in Gender, Category and PwD status with Rs. 750 as correction fee.
  • Correction will be allowed in the fields like Name of the candidate, Date of Birth, Name of Parent / Guardian, Year of Qualifying Degree etc.
  • Apart from this, the institution has also provided correction facility in Name of the Candidate, Date of Birth, Name of Parent/Guardian, Qualifying Degree, Year of Qualifying Degree & Have you graduated in the above degree? by sending a request to officials along with a document proof.

GATE 2019 Eligibility Criteria

1) Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (after 10+2/Diploma/B.Sc) and those who are in final year can also apply.

2) Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (5 year course) and those who are in final year.

3) Bachelor’s Degree in Science (after 10+2/Diploma).

4) Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics / Statistics/Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are final year.

5) Post-BSc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering / Technology (4 year program) and those who are in 2nd/3rd/4th year

6) Post-Diploma/10+2 Integrated Master’s degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering / Technology (5 year program) and who are in 4th/5th year.

7) Integrated M.Sc. or 5 year integrated B. S. /M. S. program and those who are in final year.

8) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. equivalent examinations of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g., AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India)

GATE 2019 Exam Pattern                         

Exam Mode: It will be organized in online mode (computer-based test).

Papers: GATE examination will be conducted for 23 subjects/papers on 2nd, 3rd, 9th & 10th February 2019.

Type of Questions: In the examination, MCQs & Numerical type questions will be asked. Session: Examination will be held in two sessions, i.e. forenoon (9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon) & afternoon (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM).

Duration: Exam duration will be of three hours.

Attempt: Candidates can appear only in any one paper of GATE examination.

Number of Questions: Total 65 questions will be asked in the examination.

Section Common in All GATE Papers: It is compulsory to attempt General Aptitude (GA) section.

Marks: The question paper will be of 100 marks.

GATE 2019 entrance test will be conducted on 2nd, 3rd, 9th & 10th February 2019. The examination may be conducted in two sessions (i) Morning Session – 09:00 AM to 12:00 Noon and (ii) Afternoon Session – 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM.

GATE 2019 Admit Card

GATE 2019 entrance exam admit cards will be released on 4th January 2019, Friday. Candidates have to use their enrolment id, password etc to download their admit cards.

GATE 2019 Answer Key

GATE 2019 entrance exam answer key will be released after a few days of completion of the GATE 2019 entrance examination. Students can match their answers with the released answer key and if needed they raise objections by paying the nominal fee.

GATE 2019 Results

1) GATE 2019 entrance exam results will be released on 16th March 2019, Saturday.

2) The results will be valid up to 3 years from the time of results declared.

3) GATE 2019 Score Cards will be released after the release of GATE exam results.

GATE 2019 Score Card

The scorecard will be made available only to qualified candidates. It will be released after results declaration.

  • GATE score card 2019 will be valid for three years after the announcement of the result.
  • Candidates should download their scorecard from 20th March to 31st March 2019.
  • If candidates require a soft copy of it after the last date, they have to pay Rs. 500 for obtaining the same till last week of December 2019.

GATE 2019 Counselling

GATE 2019 counselling procedure will be Centralized Counselling for M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan (CCMT). Candidates get admission in NITs, IISc, through the counselling procedure which will be based on their score card. Students can also apply for individually to the IITs when they release the admission notification. Counselling procedure will be scheduled after the results announcement.

Q1. Can I use one e-mail address to fill multiple application forms?

Ans. NO, one e-mail address can be used to submit only one application form.

Q2. My power/internet connection failed during the application process, what do I do?

Ans. Please login to the GATE 2019 application website again and continue the application process

Q3. Only SC/ST/PwD candidates have been asked to upload the category certificates. What about the OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates? Do they have to upload the category certificate too?

Ans. NO. Category certificate is required only to decide the rate for the application fee.

Q4. My power/internet connection failed during online payment. What do I do?

Ans. When you can get back online, first check the status of your payment on the GATE application website.

 a) If the payment was received by GATE, you can continue the process of printing the application form.

 b) If the payment was not received by GATE, you have to start with the payment step again, to complete payment.

Q5. My bank account has been debited (money taken out), but GATE Application website says that the payment has not been received. What do I do?

Ans. This happens because of some failure in internet transactions. You MUST initiate a fresh payment process on the GATE application website, and make the payment again. The money that was debited from your account in the first attempt will be credited to your bank account within seven working days. You will be charged only once. Any excess/unaccounted debits will be returned to you.

Q6. Do I have to send the print-out of the application form?

 Ans. No.

Q7. When and how will I know the status of my application?

Ans. You can check the status of your application by logging into GOAPS website.

Q8. Which identification card numbers shall be accepted in application form?

Ans. Only numbers of the following identification cards shall be accepted: Passport, PAN card, Voter ID, Aadhaar UID, college ID, Employee Identification Card for Indian candidates and for International candidates, ONLY a valid Passport/ Government issued ID/College ID/ Employee ID/Driving License shall be accepted as the recognized identification.
