GRIET is permanently affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH). It has been accredited by NAAC with an 'A' grade and NBA. It has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and granted autonomous status by UGC.
