Chembur Karnataka College of Law Info

Chembur Karnataka Sangha is an Association of Kannadigas, a Charitable Trust registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 and under Bombay Public trust Act, 1950. The Sangha was founded in the year 1955.

In the pursuit of its avowed objective of promoting education, the sangha started Chembur Karnataka High School in the year 1966 in a small garage. The humble origin way back in 1966, small number, parochial name, and impecunious fortunes did not bog down its impetuosity to grow. From a garage to Natraj and from Natraj to the present spacious Vidyasagar campus, has been an arduous journey. The pristine ethos, nature friendly ambience, modern structure, and above all the excellent tone in imparting knowledge, have earned the institution respect, adulation and popularity. Our motto of “transforming generation” has been intrinsically followed with ramifications in instruction and human values in the academic pursuit.

Chembur Karnataka Sangha’s, Chembur Karnataka College of Law (CKCL) is the premier Kannada Minority Institution established for imparting legal education. It was established in the year 2017. In conformity with the vision and mission set by its Founding Fathers, CKCL imparts legal education with practical training. It was inaugurated under the auspices of former Supreme Court Judge Hon’ble Shri Justice Shivraj V. Patil. The college started LLB (3 Years Programme) in 2017. In 2019, it eventually introduced BLS LL.B (5 Years Programme) and LL.M (2 Year Programme) with four areas of specialisation in Constitutional Law, Business Law, Intellectual Property Law and Criminal Law. CKCL is the first college to have received permission to start LL.M Programme outside the Department of Law under the University of Mumbai. Gradually, it started P. G. Diploma courses (1 Year Programme) in Human Rights, Cyber Law and Intellectual Property Rights. In 2023, it received permission from the University of Mumbai to start a Research Centre. CKCL provides state-of-the-art infrastructure, and IT laboratory with latest technology, a rich library, distinguished and experienced faculties, knowledgeable and well-trained library staff, and sincere and competent administrative staff.
