The NMAT 2024 by GMAC is an entrance test for admission to NMIMS and other B-schools. GMAC (The Graduate Management Admission Council) is a worldwide non-profit organization that is engaged in mentoring graduate business colleges around the globe. GMAC is the proprietor and director of the GMAT and NMAT exams. NMAT by GMAC is a national-level MBA placement test for admission to prestigious Business Schools. Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Alliance University, SRM University, BML Munjal University, VIT University, ICFAI Business School (IBS), and Ansal University, are some renowned business schools to name a few which accept NMAT 2024 score for their admissions.
NMAT 2024 application form is available online from August 2024. To fill out the application form candidates had to first register for the exam. After registration, candidates had to enter their personal and academic details as well as work experience, program, upload photographs, and preference of school. After submitting details candidates have to pay the examination fee online. NMAT 2024 Application fee is Rs 2000 + Taxes for five programs or schools. However, those applying for more than five programs or schools had to pay an additional amount of Rs 200.
After successful registration candidates received an email with their unique NMAT by GMAC registration number. Candidates are allowed to edit certain details like the preference of the school and contact details. NMAT application form can be filled in three steps.
Step 1: Registration by submitting your first, and last name, country, mobile number, and email id and choosing a password.
Step 2: Filling the application form with personal, contact details, work experience, programs, and schools, and upload photographs. Post that accepts the terms and conditions and submits the application form.
Step 3: In the next step candidates have to pay their examination fees
Step 4: After successful registration, candidates can schedule their exams and download the admit card.
The eligibility criteria of Institutes accepting the NMAT scores have remained the same for several years. However, before applying for NMAT 2024 and the various Institutes, candidates are advised to go through their official brochure. Some of the common NMAT by GMAC eligibility criteria are -
NMAT will be conducted in computer-based mode. According to the NMAT exam pattern, the exam will be held for 120 minutes duration and each section has separate timings. The exam comprises three sections - Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. The question paper will carry 120 questions. NMAT exam pattern 2024 is given below.
NMAT syllabus contains topics from Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. The language skill section of NMAT comprises questions to assess a candidate's verbal ability, language structure skills, and reading comprehension. While the quantitative skill section evaluates a candidate's calculative ability. Questions in the logical reasoning section are designed to test candidates' analytical skills. NMAT admit card of NMAT is available online. Candidates can download their admit card after successful registration and payment. To download NMAT admit card candidates have to login into their NMAT by GMAC account and enter their user id and password generated after registration. NMAT admit card contains the registration details and photograph. Candidates should carry the admit card along with a printout of the confirmation email and two identity proofs. NMAT 2024 admit card is important and without the same candidates will not be allowed to appear in the exam
NMAT 2024 results will be declared in January 2024. The scores of candidates are made available within four weeks from the date of the exam. The result will be announced online and no hard copy of the same will be sent to candidates by post. To check the NMAT 2024 result, candidates have to enter their user id and password. NMAT 2024 scorecard will have a total score, a sectional score, and a percentile ranking of the candidate. On the basis of NMAT, scores of candidates will be shortlisted for further rounds conducted by the participating institutes. The scaled scores are calculated after normalizing the marks of candidates to adjust the difficulty level while the percentile scores are calculated at the end after all the candidates have appeared in the exam. After the declaration of the NMAT results in 2024, the scores of candidates will be sent to the business schools to that they have applied.
The selection procedure for NMAT 2024 would depend on the business school the student has applied. Based on NMAT scores the participating institutes will prepare a merit list to select candidates for the next round of the selection process. Candidates will be called for Group Discussion (GD), Writing Ability Test (WAT), Case Discussion (CD), and Personal Interview depending on the institute's selection procedure. Further, they will be offered final admission based on their NMAT scores, performance in GD/WAT/CD/PI, past academic records, and work experience. The admission criteria vary as per the participating institutes.
