CEED 2023 is an Entrance Exam for admission into a Master's Degree in Designing. Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) is the National level entrance test and offers admission into a Masters's Degree in Designing (M.Des) and Ph.D. The entrance examination is carried out in the month of January every year. CEED 2023 is a qualifying exam for MDes programs at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur IIITDM Jabalpur, and Ph.D. programs in design at IISc Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, and IIT Kanpur.

CEED 2023 Notification

CEED 2023 Application Form will be available from 30th September 2022. CEED 2023 will be conducted on Saturday, January 22, 2023, from 10:00 - 13:00 hours. The examination will consist of two parts, Part A and Part B. Candidates must attempt questions from both parts. Part A will be conducted from 10:00 to 11:00 hours followed by Part B from 11:00 to 13:00 hours.

CEED 2023 Application Form

  1. The application form will be available on the official website of IIT Bombay.
  2. Candidates can start filling out and submitting the application form from the month of October 2018.
  3. Candidates shall have to upload their scanned signature and scanned photo in the application form.
  4. Applicants should also pay the application fee before submitting the application form.
  5. The application fee for all the applicants will be Rs. 2600.
  6. Candidates of the reserved category and all the women candidates shall pay Rs. 1300 as the application fee.
  7. Applicants will be able to pay the application fee thru a credit card, debit card, or net banking.

CEED 2023 Eligibility

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design or equivalent (4 years program after 10+2).
  2. Professional Diploma in Design (NID/CEPT or equivalent of 4 years program after 10+2).
  3. Those, who have acquired a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, may also apply for the Master’s program of Designing.
  4. Applicants having 5 years program after the 10th class in G.D. Arts, will also be able to apply for the exam.
  5. There is no age limit is prescribed for CEED 2023 Entrance Examination by the conducting authority.

CEED 2023 Exam pattern

The Question Paper for CEED 2023 will comprise of two parts A and B. Those, who will qualify the Part A will be eligible for the Part B examination. The question paper will be asked in English medium only.

Duration of exam:  The total duration of the CEED entrance examination is 3 hours.

Type Of Questions: objective type (Part A)

Total Marks: 100 Marks

Part A:

  • It is a Computer Based Test (CBT) having a duration of one hour.
  • It contains a total of 50 questions separated into 3 sections. The first section contains 5 questions, the second section contains 10 questions and the rest of the 35 questions will be contained by the third section.
  • A negative marking of 0.6 marks will be there in the first and third sections while there will no provision of a negative marking in the second section.
  • Every right answer will contain 2 marks.

Part B:

  • It is a pen and paper-based test of 2 hours duration.
  • In this section the candidate’s skills in drawing and designing will be measured.
  • The candidates have to answer this hand drawing test in the same booklet provided by the examiner.

CEED 2023 Admit Cards

  • Candidates can get access to their to admit card during the month of December from the official website.
  • Go to CEED official website
  • Click on the Results Link
  • Click on ‘Admit Card Downloading’
  • Enter email Id and password and click ‘Login’.
  • Click on ‘Hall Ticket Tab’ to download admit card.
  • Save and take a printout.

CEED 2023 Results

Students can follow these simple steps to check the CEED Result:

  1. Visit the official website (link is provided above).
  2. Enter the Email and Password on the page.
  3. Click on the “Login” button.
  4. The result will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Candidates, who have cleared Part A, will be able to check the score of Part B also.
  6. Candidates, who have not cleared Part A, can only check the score obtained in Part A.

 

CEED 2023 Counselling

The CEED counseling is attended by all the students according to the performance of the candidate in the CEED selection process. The CEED counseling requires the applicant to appear for the test and interview.

Below are documents to carry during CEED 2023 Counselling

  • Original copy of the CEED counseling letter.
  • Admit Card.
  • Original/provisional copy of the degree.
  • A copy of the bank draft as per the guidelines provided in the CEED prospectus.
  • All the original documents and the photocopy of the documents. Two copies of the class 10th and 12th certificates.
  • Rank card/ hall ticket.
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • 4-6 passport-size photographs.

 

CEED 2023 Preparation Tips

  • Work on your drawing and reading skills. As the exam tests candidates' ability to draw products, people, and scenes, good drawing skills will help you score good marks
  • Solve previous years' question papers to get a command of the exam pattern and manage time well
  • Try as many mock tests as you can to prepare yourself for the examination hall pressure and stress
  • Think out of the box and come up with creative and time-saving ideas to solve questions
  • Think of the different types of questions that can be asked in a design exam
