The All-India Law Entrance Test (AILET), conducted by National Law University, Delhi, annually for admission into Five-Year Integrated BA LLB (Hons) programme, LLM and PhD programmes, offered by National Law Universities across India. The admission notice and application forms will be made available on the university website in the month of January 2020. AILET 2020 exam is scheduled to be on 3rd May 2020.

AILET 2020 Application Form

  • The application forms for AILET 2020 will be available on the website from the first week of January 2020.
  • Aspiring candidates will be required to first register themselves on the official website of NLU, Delhi by entering the desired information including their email id and their scanned photograph.
  • Post-registration, candidates will be required to go to the ‘Application Locker’ and select the application form they would like to fill in.
  • This procedure will be followed by payment of application fee which confirms the application.
  • AILET 2020 examination form will be available only in online mode and candidates need to submit them there itself.

 

Application Fee

  • For GEN/OBC category candidates: INR 3050
  • For SC/ST/PwD category candidates: INR 1050
  • The application form for AILET 2020 is free of cost for the candidates belonging from SC/ST category below the poverty line.

AILET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The examination authority, NLU has defined separate eligibility criteria for all the programs. Candidates can check AILET Eligibility Criteria for different programs below:

AILET Eligibility Criteria for LLM Course:

  • Candidate with LLB degree or any other equivalent degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks can apply (In case of SC/ST/PwD it is 50% marks)
  • Candidate appearing in last year of LLB can also apply

AILET Eligibility Criteria for LLB Program:

  • Candidate must have passed Class 12 with the minimum aggregate marks of 50%.
  • According to the official notification released by NLU, Delhi the eligibility criteria of age for admission is withdrawn.
  • Candidates appearing in 12th class examination in March/April are also eligible for applying.

AILET Eligibility Criteria for PhD. course:

  • M. Degree with 55% marks or its equivalent (50% in case of SC/ST/ Persons with Disability)

AILET 2020 Exam Pattern

Candidates who filled the AILET 2020 application form must check the exam pattern before making any exam preparation plan.

  • AILET 2020 exam will be of 90 minutes
  • The exam will be of 150 marks
  • Duration of exam 90 minutes
  • The number of questions:
  • A.LL.B (Hons) – it will have 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs)
  • LLM. – It will have 100 multiple choice questions and one essay type question on law

AILET 2020 Syllabus

English: Comprehension passages, Synonyms, Antonyms, Choosing correct words, Idioms and phrases, Jumble words and sentences, Fill-in the blanks

General Knowledge: History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics and Current Affairs

Mathematics: Profit and Loss, Speed and Distance, Time and Work, Algebra, Average, Permutation and Combination and Venn Diagrams

Legal Aptitude: Study of law, Research aptitude and Problem-solving ability

Reasoning: Logical and Analytical reasoning skills

AILET 2020 Syllabus

 

AILET 2020 Admit Card

The AILET 2020 Admit Card will be published by the examining authority before the exam on the official website. The candidates who have registered themselves for the upcoming entrance test can check the availability of admit card from 22nd April 2020.

The steps to download AILET 2020 Admit Card

  • Go to the official AILET website to get the AILET 2020, Admit Card.
  • Click on the “Existing User” tab.
  • Enter candidate's AILET 2020 login ID and password.
  • Click on Login.
  • The candidate will be redirected to your AILET 2020 candidate profile.
  • Click on the “Download AILET 2020 Admit Card” button.
  • Save AILET 2020 admit card on the system and take a print out.

AILET 2020 Result

The AILET 2020 result will be announced in the month of June 2020 on the official AILET 2020 website. On the basis of the marks secured in the AILET 2020 results online, a result merit list will be prepared for candidates. AILET result merit list will be prepared separately according to all the categories. 

How to view the AILET 2020 Results:

  • Go to the official AILET 2020 website.
  • Candidates need to fill up all the information like AILET 2020 roll number, name.
  • Click on the “Submit” button to view the AILET 2020 result

 

AILET 2020 Counselling

  • AILET 2020 counselling procedure will be conducted in offline mode by National Law University, Delhi.
  • The examination authority will issue the admission letters to the qualified candidates. Such candidates should remit the admission-cum-counselling fee for AILET 2020.
  • The seats will be allotted to the qualified candidates in more than one rounds, the first round of seat allotment and AILET 2020 Spot Counselling round which will be organised on 25th June 2020
  • Once the admissions are made in the first slot, a list of shortlisted candidates is issued by NLU Delhi for AILET 2020 Spot Counselling Round.

Candidates appearing for AILET 2020 have to be aware of the complete AILET syllabus that will be included in the AILET exam so as to prepare well and score better. AILET covers the questions from five major areas: English, General Knowledge and Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Logical Reasoning and Elementary Mathematics.

One of the important steps toward a preparation is to identify the subjects of your interests and weaknesses and make an individual strategy for them.

Time Management and Practice for Offline Exam

Do not waste time on questions you don't understand, move on to next question. Practising as much the candidate can from the past year question booklets and sample papers available on the internet and bookstores can help a lot in understanding the format and get along with the questions of AILET entrance test.
