ICFAI BUSINESS SCHOOL ADMISSION TEST (IBSAT 2026)

IBSAT 2026 application submissions commenced on June 18, 2026. The last date for the submission of online applications is in the third week of December 2026. The IBSAT 2026 exam is tentatively scheduled to be conducted in the last week of December 2026 (expected on December 26–27, 2026). Shortly after the exam, results are expected to be declared online in the first week of January 2027, enabling candidates to check their scores and percentile rankings. These results serve as the basis for shortlisting candidates for further admission processes, including selection briefings and counselling rounds such as Micro Presentation and Personal Interview, held in early 2027.

The IBSAT 2026 exam is a national-level management aptitude test for admission into 2-year full-time MBA/PGPM programs at its 9 IBS campuses across India. The exam is conducted by The ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad  a Deemed University. The test is held in an online, remote-proctored format, allowing candidates to take it from the comfort of their homes. It assesses a candidate’s skills in Quantitative Techniques, Data Interpretation, Data Adequacy, Vocabulary, Analytical Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension.

Candidates with valid scores in CAT, NMAT by GMAC™, XAT, or GMAT™ (from 2024 onwards) are exempted from taking IBSAT 2026. However, taking the IBSAT 2026 exam makes eligible candidates eligible for a scholarship. In both circumstances, candidates must fill in the IBSAT 2026 application form to proceed with the admission process.

Step-by-Step Admission Process

The admission process for IBS campuses is structured into systematic stages to evaluate academic aptitude and leadership potential:  

Step 1: Online Application:

Register and submit the online application form at www.ibsat.org along with the Rs 1,800 application fee.  

Step 2: Entrance Examination:

Take the online IBSAT 2026 exam in December 2026. Alternatively, candidates can submit valid scores from national tests including CAT, XAT, NMAT by GMAC™, or GMAT™ (2024 onwards).  

Step 3: Shortlisting:

Candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in IBSAT 2026 or accepted national entrance examinations.  

Step 4: Selection Process (February 2027):

 Shortlisted applicants are invited to the IBS Hyderabad campus for the central selection round, which consists of two key components:  

Micro-Presentation: Evaluates communication skills, clarity of thought, and topic knowledge.  

Personal Interview (PI): Assesses professional attitude, domain understanding, and executive potential.  

Step 5: Campus Allotment:

Seat allotment across the nine campuses is decided based on graduation marks and selection process marks.

IBSAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The IBSAT 2026 eligibility criteria remain focused on academic excellence and proficiency in English. To be eligible for admission to the MBA/PGPM programs at any of the nine IBS campuses, candidates must satisfy the following requirements:

Academic Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a UGC-recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks.
• Formal Education: A minimum of 15 years of formal education is required, following the standard 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern.
• Final-Year Students: Candidates currently in their final year of graduation are eligible to apply, provided they complete all graduation requirements (including practicals, viva-voce, and project assignments) before May 31, 2027.
• Note: The admission will remain provisional until the candidate submits their final mark sheet and degree certificate. The deadline for submitting this proof of graduation is November 1, 2027.

English Language Proficiency

• Medium of Instruction: English must have been the medium of instruction at the graduation level.
• Language Test Requirement: Candidates whose graduation was conducted in a language other than English are not automatically disqualified, but they must submit valid scores from one of the following English proficiency tests by May 31, 2027:
• TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
• NELT (National English Language Test)
• IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

• Age Limit: There is no upper or lower age limit for appearing in IBSAT 2026.

For the IBSAT 2026 remote-proctored examination, here are the essential general instructions and guidelines:

Pre-Exam Preparation

• Slot Booking: You must book your preferred exam date and time through the general.ibsindia.org portal once the slot booking window opens (October 2026).
• Admit Card: Download your admit card immediately after booking your slot. You will need this PDF to verify your identity during the exam.
• Technical Setup: Ensure you have a laptop/desktop with a stable internet connection, a functional webcam, and a microphone. The exam uses proctoring software that monitors your audio, video, and screen throughout the 120-minute test.
• Environment: Choose a well-lit, quiet room. Ensure your desk is clear of any notes, study materials, or electronic devices (including mobile phones and digital watches), which are strictly prohibited.

Exam Day Guidelines

• Timings: Log in to the exam portal at least 45 minutes before the scheduled start time to complete the verification process and troubleshoot any technical issues.
• Verification Process:
• Level 1: Verify your facial photo.
