XAT 2020: Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is one of the most popular MBA entrance exams in India and is the second-largest exam after CAT. XAT is a national level entrance exam conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur. MBA aspirants passing Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised university or institute in any discipline will be eligible to apply for XAT 2020. XAT Exam is conducted for the admission in more than 150 B-Schools of the country. The XAT 2020 exam scheduled on the 5th January 2020.

XAT 2020 Notification by XLRI Jamshedpur has been released. The online application process for XAT 2020 starts on 23rd August 2019 and closes on 23rd August. XAT 2020 applications are received through online mode only.

XAT 2020 Preparation Tips

XAT 2020 Application Form

The form for XAT 2020 will be released on 20th August 2018.

  1. You will first have to go to xatonline.net.in
  2. Click on “XAT Registration” and fill the preliminary information and submit it.
  3. After completion of these details, you will receive the XAT ID and password through Email & SMS.
  4. Do note that you are required to create your own password
  5. After completion of the form, you will have to log into XAT 2020 and fill the educational, qualification details and select the favoured city for the examination.
  6. Candidates must upload their digital signature as well as a colour photograph of passport size online for XAT 2020.
  7. The final process takes you to the payment page.
  8. Candidates pay the requisite fees via online modes of payment for XAT 2020.
  9. Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria should print the online confirmation page or receipt for future reference.

XAT 2020 Eligibility

  • There is no age bar for taking XAT for admission into XLRI and allied institutes.
  • The candidate must have scored at least 50 per cent marks in their graduation degree to satisfy the eligibility criteria for XAT 2020.
  • There is a quota system for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs as well as Physically Handicapped Classes.
  • There is a 5 per cent relaxation in the marks eligibility department for XAT 2020.
  • For XAT 2020 examination, there is no specific allocation of seats in terms of numbers for the reserved categories of candidates.
  • Candidates will be eligible to take XAT 2020 even when in the final year of graduation.

XAT 2020 Exam Pattern

  • The total number of questions to be answered will be 78 and the test duration will be 170 minutes.
  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • Each wrong answer fetches a negative marking of ¼ mark.
  • However, the essay and general knowledge sections will see no negative marking.

XAT 2020 Admit Cards

  1. Candidates who have applied for XAT 2020 will be able to download their XAT 2020 Admit Cards from xatonline.net.in.
  2. Candidates must provide XAT Registration ID and Password to download XAT 2020 Admit Card.
  3. It must be noted that the XAT 2020 admit card will only be made available online. They will not be sent to the candidates via post or courier.

XAT 2020 Syllabus

Based on previous years’ question papers, there are several topics that the students need to focus on.

Quantitative Ability The questions in the quantitative section are generally asked from the topics like arithmetic, geometry, linear equations, graphs, probability, algebra, profit and loss statistics, logarithm and progressions, trigonometry etc.

Verbal Ability In the Verbal Ability section, the candidates can expect questions related to jumbled paragraph, analogies, fill in the blanks, sentence correction, and reading comprehension.

XAT Sample Papers

One of the best ways to prepare for XAT is to practice XAT sample papers in 2019. This year, XAT has gone online and the candidates must prepare accordingly. XAT 2020 Results

  1. The result of XAT 2020 exam will be announced in last week of January 2020. On the basis of result, the candidates can seek admission in XLRI and other participating institutes across the nation.
  2. The candidates will be able to download their scorecard on the basis of their login details.
  3. XAT 2020 score will remain valid for one year.
  4. Also, the percentage and percentile of the General Knowledge section will not be a part of Total percentage and percentile. It will be calculated independently.
  5. The GK percentile and percentage will be independently calculated and will not be revealed in the total.
