Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test - TANCET 2021 is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Anna University on behalf of Tamil Nadu State government for admissions into postgraduate programmes like MBA, MCA, and ME/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan, offered in the government, government-aided colleges, self-financing engineering colleges for government quota and seats voluntarily surrendered by the colleges in Tamil Nadu state.
TANCET 2021 Notification has been released in the month of January 2021. TANCET 2021 Application process starts from 19th January and ends on 12th February 2021. TANCET 2021 Exam is scheduled on 20th and 21st March 2021.
TANCET Exam Dates
March 20, 2021 (MBA and MCA), March 21, 2021 (M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan)
1) Candidate should pass Bachelor’s Degree which is of minimum duration of 3 years.
2) Candidate should secure a minimum of 50% of marks in qualifying examination. For candidates belonging to reservation category, it is relaxed to 45% of marks.
3) Candidates with degree obtained through Distance mode are not eligible.
4) Candidates who are admitted through Lateral Entry in degree courses are not eligible except B.E/B.Tech and MCA degree courses.
5) Other state candidates can also appear for the examination, but the eligibility conditions will be stipulated by admitting authority or university.

A candidate applying for more than one programme has to pay Rs 600/- (Rs 500/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates belonging to Tamil Nadu) for each additional programme through online only.

2) Once registered, candidates can log in using registered email id and password.
3) Fill the required details of application form with authentic information.

The question paper will have three parts. Part-I and Part-II are compulsory and under Part-III the candidates have to answer the section which has been chosen at the time of registration. If a candidate appears for a different section, Part – III will not be evaluated. The questions will be set at the undergraduate level.
TANCET 2021 Hall tickets will be released 1 week or 2 weeks before the examination. Candidates can download the hall tickets from the official website of Anna University. Hall ticket contains information like unique registration number, name of the candidate, test date, time, and venue etc. If the hall ticket is lost after the test, a duplicate hall ticket can be obtained on payment of Rs 100/- in the form of a Demand Draft.
The TANCET 2021 Results are expected to be released in the month of April 2021. Mark sheets will be available after the release of results. Candidates can find the results in the website and download the Mark sheets. Mark sheets will NOT be sent in post or mail to the candidate. Mark sheets shall be downloaded from the website by the candidates within 10 days from the date of publication of results of the entrance test. The mark sheet should be produced at the time of admission.
The counselling process is expected to start from the month of April 16th 2021 tentatively. Candidates will be called rank-wise for counselling procedure. Candidates need to register and pay non-refundable counselling fee. There will be certificate verification and candidates have to submit the Xerox copy of certificates.
1) The Candidates, who wish to apply for TANCET, must apply through online only.
2) It is advised to visit your allotted Examination Centre well before so that you can take examination tension-free.
3) It is the responsibility of the candidates to ensure that they are answering the correct Question Booklet of the branch for which they are eligible for admission.
4) Candidates must return both Question Paper Booklet and OMR Answer Sheet after the test. Another page in the OMR sheet can be taken by the candidate for reference to his/her answers.
5) The Question booklet code, Hall Ticket Number and other details must be entered correctly and properly on the OMR Answer Sheet, in the Test. Otherwise ranks declared, if any will be cancelled subsequently in such cases.
6) Candidates are required to report 1 hour before the scheduled start time of the test for the verification & security check.
7) Hall Ticket should be produced at the time of Entrance Test and also at the time of Admission. If the hall ticket is lost after the test, a duplicate hall ticket can be obtained on payment of Rs 100/- in the form of a Demand Draft, with a written request to The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025, indicating the Registration No. / Application No. and the name of the Examination Centre.
