Diamond Harbour Health District was created through a Notification by the Government of West Bengal on 01.04.2013.Since 01.04.2016 the Government of India has accepted a separate financial functioning of this Health District Programme Management Unit under National Health Mission.

The Health District Geographic Jurisdiction is limited to the Sub Divisions of Diamond Harbour and Kakdwip of South 24 Parganas.
