The Govt. Degree College for Men, Srikakulam, being one of the oldest higher educational establishments in the state, having been founded in 1951, and popularly known as Govt. Arts College in the North Coastal Andhra, has played a historic role in the dissemination of quality education aiming at academic excellence of the aspirants. At present, around 2000 students from various places of the district, especially of rural backdrop, are studying in the college, which caters to the higher education pursuits of both the undergraduate and post graduate students and, accordingly, offers a number of courses in staunch adherence to the current academic and employment requirements of the students.
