Government Polytechnic, Alwar  was established in 1960 with Diploma courses in Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Engineering with students intake capacity 30 each course. Thereafter from Diploma  in Electronics Engineering introduced with students intake capacity of 15 and started from academic year 1987.Presently intake capacity of electrical and mechanical branch is 40 and civil and electronics branch is 60. A non engineering diploma course in fashion and apprel design ia also started from session 2023-24 with intake capacity of 30.
