Nandyal holds a crucial position as a prominent town within the Rayalaseema region, renowned for being the residence of Nine Nandis, garnering historical significance. Over the years, it has become a destination of interest for individuals nationwide, particularly those seeking to visit Mahanandi, home to a notable Nandi. Notably, Nandyal has experienced substantial progress in the realms of education, agriculture, and industry during the last two decades, marking a period of rapid development.In the year 1967, Sri Pasupula Subbarayudu Chetty and Sri Kasetty Venkata Subbaiah Chetty, who were among the most affluent individuals in the vicinity of Nandyala, generously donated 30.74 acres of land at Bommalasatram in Nandyala with the noble intention of providing quality education imbued with ethical values to the disadvantaged residents of Nandyal and the adjacent villages of Nandyal. The estimated value of the donated land at that time was one lakh rupees, signifying its considerable worth. This philanthropic initiative led to the establishment of the college in 1967, as per the provisions outlined in G.O.Ms. 1570 Edn. Dept. Dt. 20.07.1967.In perpetual tribute to their benevolence, the college was formally designated as PSC & KVSC Government College in their honor. Under the auspices of their blessings, the institution has witnessed gradual expansion and attained recognition, securing 2F and 12B from the University Grants Commission (UGC) in 1972. This co-educational establishment is affiliated with Rayalaseema University, Kurnool. The inauguration of the college building was officiated by the esteemed late Sri Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, who served as the President of India.
