Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management, GITAM was founded in 1980 by a group of intellectuals and industrialists of Andhra Pradesh led by Dr.M.V.V.S.Murthi, former Member of Parliament and philanthropist. GITAM University established its branch in Hyderabad, India, near Rudraram village (12 km from Patancheru, Medak). The campus admitted its first batch of students in 2009. It started the MBA program in Hyderabad Business School.
