IIITB – Scholarships

There are two types of Scholarships granted to students:

• Merit-Based Scholarships: these Scholarships are awarded based on a student’s academic achievements and research activities, and research publications. AICTE based on GATE Rank is one of the granting authorities.

• Need-based Scholarships: These scholarships are granted to students based on financial requirements. Under this Scheme are Societe Generale Scholarship, Huawei Scholarship, Institute Scholarship, and III Bangaluru Alumni Sponsored Scholarship are included.

• Utkarsha Scholarship Scheme: This scheme of 2020 is for meritorious students joining IITB’S flagship 5-year integrated M.Tech, Programme.   Under this scheme of Scholarship, selected students are provided a 100% tuition fee waiver to the top 5 students on the merit basis of JEE Main NTA Rank (CRL) in the range of 1-999.  This Scheme is applicable to students seeking admission to both CSE and ECE branches of the Integrated M.Tech program.  Students who have been granted this Scholarship are required to maintain a CGPA of 3.6 and above for the next and subsequent years of study.  The Scholarship under the Utkarsha scheme shall be administered in the form of a full reimbursement after payment of the regular tuition fee by the student as per the calendar announced by IIITB.
