The J.J. College of Engineering and Technology (JJCET) was established during the 1994–1995 academic year. From the 2019–2020 academic year, the Sowdambikaa Group of Institutions will now be in charge of running JJCET. The college, which has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and has an affiliation with Anna University, Chennai, is located in the village of Ammapettai, 18 kilometres from Tiruchirappalli, right next to the National Highway (NH45) leading to Dindigul.

Library- JJCET Library was first founded in 1994, it was first placed in a classroom and had 1,500 books. The Library is fully equipped with contemporary facilities and materials in the form of CD-ROM. books, periodicals, audio and video cassettes, online databases, etc.

Transport- 35 buses are run from various locations in and around Trichy as well as from distant locations for the comfort of non-residential students and staff.
