Starting of post-graduation course in Paediatrics (MD) after obtaining LOP from MCI is another feat achieved in 2020. Apart from health care delivery, Malda Medical College is the only referral centre for medico legal works in the district. Efficient medico-legal services are provided to aid the department of Home and help in the delivery of justice.Of late the specialized and expertise of the VRDL,a medical college level centre for diagnosis and research on viral diseases, of the department of Microbiology has been successfully harnessed in testing for COVID 19 by RTPCR.Besides,the VRDL has been helping in capacity building for HR by regular hands -on -training and workshops on RTPCR.I thankfully acknowledge the contribution of my predecessors who laid the foundation of development. Since joining office in early2019, it has been easier for me to carry on with the on-goingwork.
