Mr. J. MANIKANDAN, Secretary & Principal of Oriental Catering College Madurai. He is a courageous, confident and devoted person. He is a hard worker to up lift the catering & hotel management students & their career.
He had college education from Madura College & Thiyagarajar College. He had Post Graduate Hotel Management Diploma Course in Madurai Kamarajar University & very proudly we can say that he was the first batch of the Hotel Management course in MKU.
After getting education, Ist he had an experience in Hotel Industry namely Taj Groups of Hotels at Madurai, Chennai & Mumbai. Then he switched over from hotel industry to the academic side. He worked as a lecturer in Kodaikanal Christian College. Then he served as a principal in Indian Institute of Hotel Management.
In the Mean time, he had an ambition to start a Catering college at Madurai. The reason is to eradicate the unemployment among the youth by providing effective Hotel Management education. With the kind coordination of Mr. J. Shanmugasundaram & J. Suresh babu, Started Catering Institute in the name and style of Oriental institute catering technology&hotel management at Madurai in the year of 2002 with Government recognition.
He visited number of foreign countries namely Srilanka, Singapore, Malaysia and Dubai to promote hotel management education.
