In 1999, the Mahatma Education Society founded the Pillai College of Engineering (PCE), Mumbai a self-financed Malayalam Linguistic Minority Institute affiliated to the University of Mumbai that has been certified by the AICTE and recognized by the Maharashtra government. UGC has granted the college recognition under sections 12(b) and 2(f).
PCE, one of India's best engineering schools, received an “A+” rating from the NAAC. For the 2021–2022 academic year, PCE has been granted Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. PCE provides a range of undergraduate (B.E.), postgraduate (M.E.), and doctoral (Ph.D.) programs across various engineering disciplines, including: Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electronics and Computer Science.

Auditorium- The auditorium has an HD sound system and an LCD projector, among other media equipment. It can accommodate more than 300 spectator seats.

Lecture Halls- Each of PCE's three lecture halls can accommodate more than 100 people. There are two air-conditioned seminar halls. Their audio and video systems are well-equipped. This is where events like department-level seminars and symposia, as well as informal meetings, are planned.

Laboratories- PCE boasts more than fifty-two cutting-edge laboratories that are completely furnished to provide its students with an improved educational experience.

Language Lab- Students can use PCE's fully equipped language lab, which includes the newest language resources, to study other languages and hone their English speaking and writing abilities.
