One of India's oldest business schools is PSG Institute of Management situated in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. To meet the increasing need for management graduates in this area, PSGIM began as the Department of Management within the PSG College of Technology in 1965. Earlier known as the Department of Management Sciences under the PSG College of Technology, was later rechristened as the PSG Institute of Management in 1994.
For National Management Week in the years 2022–2023, AIMS honoured PSGIM with the Best Institution Award. The institute has an academic affiliation with Anna University.
