What is Textile engineering?

Textile engineering deals with, research & development and production of textile using scientific principles and techniques and advanced machinery. A textile engineer works with types of textile material like fibre, yarn and fabric. A textile designer also involves in research and development of a new type of textile material or developing existing material. Textile engineers are also given training in designing textile plant and layout so that they also can involve in developing much-sophisticated textile production machinery.

India is among the world’s largest textile producing countries. India stands in 5th place in List of Top Textile producing countries and growing to surpass Vietnam sooner.  China, Germany, Bangladesh and Vietnam are top above India in textile producing.
