QS World University Rankings cover about 51 subjects to rank the World's Top Universities in the subject areas.  Such rankings enable prospective students to identify and take the right decision for their future studies.  QS World University rankings are awarded based on the following components/attributes for top Universities by subject.  They are:

  • Academic Reputation
  • Employer Reputation
  • International student ratio and International Faculty ratio
  • Research Citations per paper
  • Student/Faculty ratio

Academic Reputation:  This Component/attribute accounts for about 40% of the overall score that considers the teaching and research quality on the survey collators for over 13000 expert opinions.

Employer Reputation:  This is intended to assess the preparedness of the Institute/School to provide competent, innovative, and effective students for their successful careers post-study.

International Student ratio and International Faculty Ratio:  This component is intended to survey on the strengths of the University in providing a multinational environment and global awareness to the students in shaping them to demonstrate a high ability in their international skills developed through experienced International Faculty to shoulder the current challenges in the international job markets.

Research Citations per faculty: This component is intended to measure the research quality of the University with a citation per faculty metric taking the total number of academic citations in Papers submitted by a university in a 5-year period.

Faculty/Student Ratio: This component is intended to carry out a study on the ratio of students/faculty ratio.  A high Faculty/Student ratio reduces the burden of the teaching by the faculty to ensure an enriching experience in learning by the student focussing on the individual’s attention by faculty.
