Andhra Kesari University is not just one of the oldest educational institutions in the country, but is also the first to be conceived as a residential and teaching-cum-affiliating University, mainly devoted to post-graduate teaching and research.The people of the State have an emotional attachment to the institution, since it came into being after a prolonged and collective struggle of the Telugu elite for a University in the educationally backward northern Circars and Ceded districts of the erstwhile Madras Presidency.Former President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was one of its Vice-Chancellors who succeed Dr. C. R. Reddy in 1931. The University College of Arts was inaugurated on 1 st July, 1931. The inaugural courses were Telugu language and literature, History, Economics and Politics. A year later, the College of Science and Technology came into being with Honours courses in Physics and Chemistry. The University pioneered in introducing many new courses in Science, Arts, Management and Engineering in the country.

		-
B.E / B.Tech	Engineering	-	Candidates must pass their 10+2 or equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 percent marks from a recognized institution
M.E / M.Tech	Engineering	-	Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 60%
BBA	Management	-	Class 12 or equivalent qualification in any discipline with a minimum of 50% aggregate from recognised school
BBM	Management	-	Candidates must have passed their senior secondary school examination (10+2) in commerce or a related field, with mathematics as a required subject
MBA	Management	-	A graduate degree under 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 pattern under any discipline, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate, from a recognized university
B.Sc	Science	-	Candidates must make sure they have completed Class 12 in the Science stream with PCB/M (Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Mathematics) subjects
M.Sc.	Science	-	Students must have completed their graduation degree in Engineering or B.Sc. in any science subject.
MA	Arts	-	Candidates should have completed their Bachelor of Arts with a minimum of 3 years duration or its equivalent degree from a recognized university
BA	Arts	-	Students must complete 10+2 from a recognized board. He/she should score more than 50% marks in class 10 and class 12 exam
