DKTE (Dattaji Kondevaji Tatyasaheb Education Society) Textile & Engineering Institute  is located in the center of Ichalkaranji, also referred to as the Manchester of Maharashtra, and features a magnificent and recognizable old mansion as well as a large campus. The institute was founded in 1981 under the direction of Mr. K.B. Awade (Ex. M.P.), a visionary and philanthropic leader.
The institute's commitment to achieving academic excellence has led to its multiplication and diversification into other fields. Twelve undergraduate programs, six graduate programs, management studies, and three vocational degree programs are currently offered by the institute. The Institute has authorized a Research Center for Ph.D. programs in computer science, mechanical, textile, and electronics and telecommunication engineering. the extensive experience of the institute to support and encourage industry growth.

In 2016, it was granted "Autonomous Status." With a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.3 in 2022, the institute was re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an A+ rating in the second assessment cycle. The National Board of Accreditation, New Delhi, has granted accreditation to all of the institute's eligible undergraduate programs.
