The Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences (GAIMS), located in Bhuj, Gujarat, was established in 2009 as the first Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between the Government of Gujarat and the Adani Education & Research Foundation. This collaboration aimed to enhance medical education and healthcare services in the Kutch district, making GAIMS the sole medical college and multi-specialty modern teaching district hospital in the region.

The Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences is affiliated with Krantiguru Shyamji Krishna Verma (KSKV) Kachchh University and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) for its undergraduate Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program, which admits 150 students annually. Additionally, the National Medical Commission has approved 17 postgraduate courses (MD/MS), offering a total of 94 seats across various specialties.  

GAIMS is attached with a teaching hospital, G. K. General Hospital (GKGH), serves as the only multi-specialty modern teaching district hospital in Kutch. With over 790 beds, 14 operation theatres, and various intensive care units—including ICU, ICCU, PICU, NICU, RICU, MICU, SICU, and OICU totalling 63 beds—GKGH provides comprehensive healthcare services. The hospital is equipped with advanced diagnostic facilities, such as a 1.5 Tesla MRI machine and a 128-slice CT scan machine, ensuring high-quality patient care.

The 27-acre Gujarat Adani Institute of Medical Sciences campus in Bhuj comprises multiple blocks dedicated to the medical college, teaching hospital, and separate hostels for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Residential quarters for teaching and non-teaching staff are also available, fostering a supportive academic environment.
